Third Reich Era German Winter Charity Relief Badge from 1930’s – 1940’s. This one is a bit of a mystery to me at this point – more research required, but my best guess is it’s from a fairytale folklore collection and possibly from Vienna Region late 1930’s early 1940’s. Back reads, “Der Basilisk” Measures 3cm x 2.5cm. Hand painted metal construct. The Basilisk is a legendary reptile or serpent king that causes death to those who look into its eyes, made famous in the Harry Potter novels and movies.
