Description
This lovely Herodian terracotta oil lamp was found in Jerusalem and dates to ‘year zero’ – the time of Christ.
Nice rounded, flat body and long spout with a squared nozzle. Intact spout still shows traces of charring from use. Ancient earthen deposits remain inside. Measures 88mm.
