NSW Railways Queen Competition Badge: Newcastle. Entrant Jean Mangold won the competition in 1941 raising funds for the war effort. Her committee raised 1089 pounds. Badge measures 2.5cm diameter. Please note condition is as you see in the image – there are cracks across the front of the badge – not so noticeable to the naked eye as they are enhanced in this photo, but they are there.
