Kartell Rochetto Stool or Sidetable Pair

Description

Designed in 1969 by the brothers Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, in collaboration with iconic Italian designer Joe Colombo, the Rochetto (which literally translates as spool in English), plastic stool is made simply, yet exudes style with form & function.  Two identical plastic forms were fastened together giving the design its distinctive hourglass shape.  Use as a stool with the cushion top, or remove the cushion to use as a side table with a handy removable inset serving tray.   It’s a stool and a side table with a removable serving tray all in one.  The underside of the tray features the Kartell brand name and the distributor in Australia.

Each stool measures approximately 40cm wide x 45cm high.  One removable tray has a few small nibbles in it.  The second tray has had a vintage expert re-glue around the inner seam.  One original cushion has a split in the side seam.  Leave in original vintage condition, re-cover the cushions, or have new cushions made for these stools and they will last many decades more.
