Boxed China Incident War Medal Instituted by Imperial Edit No.496 7th December, 1939. Awarded for service in China at any time from the 12th & 20th years of the Showa period 1937 – 1945. The Marco Polo Bridge Incident 7th July, 1937 saw conflict between Chinese & Japanese troops outside Beijing. It developed into warfare between the two countries & was prelude to Pacific WWII. Box measures 11cm.
