Description

Third Reich NSDAP Campaign Pins.  Vote Ja/Yes supporter pin for the 1933 Parliamentary elections. Voters were presented with a single list containing Nazi candidates.  By this time all opposition parties had been banned.  92% voted yes, hardly daring to vote ‘no’ in case of detection and reprisals.  3.3 million were brave enough to submit invalid ballots.  The election was held on the same day as a referendum on Hitler’s decision to pull out of the League of Nations, which passed with similar numbers.  The new Reichstag exclusively composed of NSDAP members and sympathisers, convened to elect a Presidium, headed by President of the Reichstag Hermann Goring.

Parliamentary elections were held again on 29th March 1936.  They took the form of a single question referendum, asking voters whether they approved of the military occupation of the Rhineland.  99% voted yes in a ‘rigged’ election.  The march to war had begun…
