Fishing Float – Rolling Pin Tohoku

This glass fishing float comes from the Tohoku Region/Provence in North Eastern Japan.  It’s the region where the Tsunami hit in 2011.  The rolling pin fishing floats pictured here are around 65 years old.  Every one varies slightly in shape and colour, because they are typically made from recycled rice wine bottles and they are all hand blown.  The average size is 13cm x 5cm.  You will receive one similar to those pictured. Pictures have been left natural and enhanced so you can get an idea of colour variations.   Vintage fishing floats look fabulous in a coastal or nautical themed home or room.  Mix them up in a bowl with sea shells and starfish, or hang them in a window or in the garden and let the sunlight filter through.
