The Bicentenary $10 note was only in circulation for one year – 1988 – to commemorate Australia’s Bicentenary. 200 years since the arrival of the First Fleet of British convict ships at Botany Bay and Sydney Cove. This event signified the founding of the colony of New South Wales, the first colony in what would become the nation of Australia.
