Measuring 23cm x 14cm x 7.5cm.  Featuring King George V on the tin, there’s an importer sticker on one side for a firm based in Hong Kong.  George V reigned from 1910 to 1936 through WWI and this Afternoon Tea Kings Own mixed selection were distributed to serving soldiers.  Those tins had an extra label on them saying as much.  This selection was also produced on the occasion of the King’s Coronation.  Retaining most of it’s original paper labelling with colours remaining bright, it’s a remarkable survivor & for anyone Hunter Region, NSW based, it is also local history.  William Arnott began his bakery at Morpeth just down the main street from Morpeth Antique Centre, selling bread to the steam ships that came up the river from Sydney from 1821.  The inside of the tin is largely rust free and very clean.
