Newcastle, NSW Radio Station 2KO Jack’s Day Appeal Charity Pin –  Naval Hut Appeal.  Badge measures 2cm diameter.  Jack’s Day was named after the traditional British term for sailors, Jack Tars.  Jack’s day raised funds to support naval servicemen and merchant marine sailors and their families.  King George V organised the first event in 1918 during WWI.  The appeal continued in WWII.  Badge measures 2cm diameter. 2KO radiop station began broadcasting in 1931 and is still broadcasting today.
