Fishing Floats with Nets
$15.00
Description
Synthetic nets are many different colours. The glass floats are all hues of sea green and blue. We’ll pick you out a nice selection if you purchase multiples. If you prefer a certain colour net, let us know in the comments box.
Each float measures 3.5-4 inches in diameter. These glass fishing floats are from the Hokkaido Region of Northern Japan, often made out of recycled sake bottles, which accounts for their different glass hues of green, to blue. They look fantastic when placed where the sun can light them up, in a display with shells and coral as a feature in your home.
*** The first nets knotted around long line fishing floats were made from natural rope fibres. From the late 1950’s floats typically have a synthetic net around them made from polypropylene plastic or nylon. Over decades, especially if your floats are in strong hot sun), this net will break down and deteriorate, but the glass floats will endure and look just as pretty without their nets. If the nets break down in your care, you can dispose of the nylon net sustainably, rather than it breaking down in the ocean, where it is harmful to fish, turtles etc…
