The history of thread buttons, originally called “Dorset button” is written from the late 17th century. The original type of thread button was formerly produced in Great Britain in the county of Dorset. Production of thread buttons began in Bohemia in the period before the First World War in the small town Jablonné nad Orlicí. Co-founder of industrial machinery production and traditional thread buttons manufacturer in Europe Mr. Antonín Šlesinger founded the company in 1921. He industrialized the former hand sewing of thread buttons, which is the only one in Europe and has tradition for 150 years.
These NEW thread buttons have come from the factory in Prague They make several different designs – these are called Astra Design. All six are the same, 13mm. They are made of cotton and can be dyed or used as they are.
