Description

Copper XX Cash coin minted by the East India Company in 1808.  The Admiral Gardner had just left port from England bound for India, filled with supplies for the East India Company’s overseas operations, when she went down in a storm in the English Channel in 1809.  This coin was discovered, along with the ship, nearly 200 years later.  Depicts a Coat of Arms/Mughal Persian inscription – XX or 20 Cash.  30mm diameter.  A rare denomination from this wreck.
