Measures 25mm. Historical fact: Star Spangled banner written by Francis Scott Key. This promotional game was issued by Shell Oil Company in 1968, then re-released with changes in 1969. It was a collect and win game with instant winners. With each visit to a participating Shell station, customers received a free aluminium game coin showing either a portrait of a famous American, or a historical fact associated with that person. 24 different obverse designs were issued. If you could collect a pair of coins – the person and the associated fact, you won the prize indicated on the game card. Prizes included cash amounts of US$1 up to US$5000. You could also win a 36 piece set of bronze presidential medals.
