May Gibbs’ iconic artwork has long held a cherished place in the hearts of Australians young and old. The first public appearance of the gumnut babies was in 1913, on the front cover of a book she illustrated for another author Ethel Turner. May also produced postcards depicting gumnut babies in uniform to support Australia’s role in WWI. Her first book about gumnut babies was published in 1916 and Snugglepot & Cuddlepie in 1918.

This collection of napery & ceramics features some of May Gibbs’ most memorable works. Three distinctive stories: Flower Babies, Gumnut Babies and Bush Tales, have been re-created onto Bone China plates, coffee mugs, travel mugs, cup & saucer, placemats, coasters, children’s dinner sets, tea towels, pot holders, oven mitts and reusable shopping bags. Fill your home with these beloved characters or sent them overseas as gifts this Christmas.
