Ellis Pottery – Cannister Set of Five
Handmade in Melbourne, Australia by a couple who emigrated out from Czechoslovakia. Ellis Pottery was set up in 1953 and operated until the late 1970’s. This set of five lidded cannisters for flour, rice, sugar, tea, coffee were part of a kitchen benchtop set originally purchased in 1969. There is no damage. Bright orange & brown with just a touch of blue in the drip glaze. Currently back in vogue along with all things retro. The tallest measures 30cm high, the smallest 20cm high. They have no names on them, which means you can use them for anything and anywhere – not just in the kitchen. They are brilliant white inside, at 50 years of age, I’m not sure they have ever been used.
