Bobbin – Red Ends from Japan
Vintage Textile Bobbin from Hokkaido Provence in Northern Japan. Age unknown, but 1960’s would be my best guess. Use for storing yarn, as a candle holder, legs for coffee tables, propping up dolls and bears or simply display in a box. Height: 15cm Diameter: 6cm. Made from a hard wood, they are painted on the ends with red paint. You will receive one similar to those pictured in the photo.
Antique Industrial Textile Relics – every one more than 100 years old. In the United Kingdom & the United States, textile mills are closing down, or did so 50 years ago. The land is being sold for development and the bobbins left within the factories are burnt in huge bonfires, or dug into the ground. It’s heart breaking. This is your opportunity to save a little piece of history.
