This enamel badge measures 2cm wide x 1cm long.  The information on the back of the card reads, ‘The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is the second oldest air force in the world, starting life as a unit of the Australian Army in 1912 as the Australian Flying Corps.  The RAAF became an independent service in 1921, but can boast wartime action since the Great War of 1914-18.  Covering itself in glory in major conflicts for nearly a century, the members of the RAAF have flown in the Battle of Britain, European Air War, Papua New Guinea, Battles of the Pacific, the Berlin Airlift, Malaya, Korea, Vietnam, East Timor, Iraq & Afghanistan.’
